*For reasons unknown to me, my students seem to be interested in my life outside of school. So by popular demand, here's a little about me!*
About Me
I originally grew up in Hollywood, Florida, but moved to Spring Hill, Florida my sophomore year of high school. After high school I attended Florida State University where I was a Resident Assistant and majored in English Education. I absolutely loved attending FSU and encourage all of my students to attend college because of my experience. The year after I graduated college, I married my husband, who originally grew up near Cape Cod, Massachusetts. (You can imagine how different our childhoods were: he shoveled snow, I had school cancelled due to hurricanes.) We lived in Tallahassee, Florida for a few more years, where I taught sixth and seventh grade Language Arts, but we eventually decided it was time for a change. After visiting my husband's parents several times, we decided we liked the area and moved to Newport, Tennessee.

Some fun facts about me:
- I am a middle child. I have an older brother and a younger sister.
- I grew up in a household that only allowed cats, so at 16 I got Princess. As soon as I was able to, I got a dog named Colby. Since then, I've added Chloe and Ellie.
- I come from a family of readers, but I absolutely detested reading until I was in college.
- My all-time favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird because my brother told me I reminded him of Scout. I look up to my brother, and him comparing me to such an awesome character stuck with me.
- I thoroughly enjoy grammar, but I understand my students don't.
- My absolute favorite food is chocolate chip cookies. I strongly believe that a good cookie can fix anything life throws at you!
- My favorite musician is John Mayer. I love to include his music in class.
